There's a bit more planning that goes into a destination wedding and we appreciate your time and energy!

Got questions? Let us know and we'll help you out.

1 | Flights

The nearest airport is the Cancun International Airport (CUN). It is a regional hub and there should be plenty of flights available. February is a busy tourist season, so be sure to book your flights early!

Estimated time: From SEA - 6 hours
                            From AUS - 2.5 hours

2 | Border Crossing & Customs

In order to enter Mexico, you will need a valid passport with an expiration date of no earlier than 08/05/2024. You will also be asked to fill out a customs form during your flight.

Estimated time: .5 - 1 hour

3 | Airport Transfer

We would love to arrange your transportation from the Cancun airport to the Puerto Juarez ferry dock. Please send Isaac or Jordyn your flight information as soon as possible so that we can make arrangements.

Want to book your own? You can learn more about transfer options here.

Estimated time: 1 hour

4 | Ultramar Ferry

The only way to get to Isla Mujeres is by boat. Ultramar ferries run from 5:30 AM - midnight every day. You will want to catch the ferry at Puerto Juarez. Roundtrip tickets cost $30 and can be purchased ahead of time here.

Estimated time: 1 hour

5 | Island Transportation

Once you arrive on the island, there will be plentiful taxis to take you wherever you want to go. Fares are usually between $2 to $5, depending on the distance. We also highly recommend renting a golf cart - it's a fun way to independently explore without having to hail a taxi. Interested? Let Isaac or Jordyn know!

Estimated time: .5 hour

6 | Currency

You'll be using pesos during your trip to Mexico (duh). There are currency exchange booths at the Cancun airport and the Isla Mujeres ferry terminal. There are also several ATMs on the island that will allow you to withdraw pesos. Credit cards are taken at most businesses, but you'll definitely want cold, hard cash as well (mostly for street tacos, yum!).

*Please note that it will take around 3 hours to get to Isla Mujeres from the Cancun airport. It's a long journey, but we'll be awaiting your arrival with ice cold Pacificos and Mexican confectionaries.
